At just 3.5 square kilometres (1.3 square miles), Comino has a lot to offer. This virtually uninhabited island is the perfect place for water activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling, or for getting lost on hiking trails.

- The island owes its name to the influx of cumin plants that grow all over the island.
- Comino has been the setting for major film productions such as Troy and The Count of Monte Cristo.
- Only two people live on Comino. These elderly people, who are also cousins, are in charge of the maintenance of the few buildings on the island and of welcoming tourist boats in summer.

- The Blue Lagoon: The must-visit place in Comino is undoubtedly the famous Blue Lagoon. The intense turquoise blue of its waters is a tourist attraction for bathers and divers from all over the world.
- Santa Maria Bay: There are numerous coves and bays in Comino that are ideal for getting lost in. One of the most famous is Santa Maria Bay, in the north of the island.
- Santa Maria Caves: This incredible natural cave system is a paradise for diving enthusiasts. Here you can dive at all levels and explore the caves' underwater tunnels.
- St. Mary's Tower: This fortification, erected in 1618, is the only building in Comino that has remained intact throughout its history.
How to get to Comino?
The most convenient way to reach Comino by public transport is by taking the ferry. From the port of Cirkewwa in Valletta or from the port of Mgarr in Gozo ferries depart to Comino approximately every 45 minutes.
The ferry docks right at the Blue Lagoon, the island's biggest attraction. The price of the journey is € 10 (US$ 11) return and the trip takes approximately 25 minutes.
